Senior Electrical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our innovative electrical team in either Cork or Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the entire design process or engage as a technical expert on a specialized design.
* Assess project requirements, break them into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine scope, budget, and staffing.
* Forecast work 12-16 weeks out and/or create a construction schedule for projects led by you.
* Maintain quality in accordance with company production and design standards.
Team Leadership
You will work with the Regional Director of Design and the HR team to recruit and retain talent, develop staffing plans to meet business goals, and oversee manpower planning to ensure efficient resource assignment on multiple concurrent projects.
Design and Development
* Research design options and write electrical design scopes of work based on preliminary reviews and meetings with clients.
* Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.
* Create specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams.
Communication and Collaboration
You'll regularly connect with clients to ensure satisfaction and build relationships. You may also estimate costs, review contractor applications for payments, review construction budgets, and coordinate document completion.
Qualifications and Requirements
* 15 years of previous design experience.
* Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
* Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
* Experience with design of building electrical systems, such as: building service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low voltage systems.
