Job Title: Childrens Outreach Worker Location: South Belfast Friendship House Salary: £24,253 - £27,285 (A4-A10 on AMPP Scale) pro rata Hours: 24 hours per week (over 4 days, Monday to Thursday) Term: 3 Years, Fixed-Term contract Responsible to: Project Leader (under the oversight of the Management Panel) MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB Under the direction of the Mission Project Leader, to support and assist in the delivery of programmes in Friendship House that engage with children in ways that build relationships, share the gospel effectively and connect with the local community.
The Childrens Outreach Worker will report directly to the Mission Project Leader and be responsible in their work to the South Belfast Friendship House Management Panel of the Council for Mission in Ireland.
CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential Criteria 1.
Possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs with at least Grade C in English Language and Maths or equivalent.
2.
Training in childrens or youth ministry.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Essential Criteria 1.
At least one years experience in a role working with children or young people.
2.
Experience of teaching the bible to children or young people in a ministry setting.
3.
Experience of following procedures and working to guidelines.
4.
Experience of using Microsoft Office in an employment setting with practical experience of Spreadsheets, Database, Power Point and Email.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES Essential Criteria 1.
Willingness to commit to working within the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
2.
Ability to be flexible in terms of work patterns and working hours, including evening or weekend work as required.
