About the Role
The Lead Facilities Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Shanbally facility in Cork. This includes managing service contracts, coordinating workplace planning, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, and overseeing facility repairs and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure health and safety standards are met, coordinating contractor work permits
* Oversee facility repairs, installations, and maintenance projects
* Manage civil/structural projects and space planning
* Handle service contracts for landscaping, fire systems, cleaning, and building upkeep
* Conduct inspections and integrity testing of underground services
* Prepare budgets and forecasts for capital and operational expenses
* Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations and local quality procedures
* Plan and execute site maintenance shutdowns
* Supervise external service providers and manage the Shanbally Canteen
* Prepare facilities for audits and special events
* Oversight of the Pest Control Programme
* Ensure contractor training and documentation compliance
* Lead investigation teams and manage CAPAs for facility-related issues
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
* 8+ years of facilities engineering experience, preferably in biopharmaceutical manufacturing
* Proven leadership and team management skills
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, civil, electrical, and plumbing systems
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and GMP standards
* Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
