Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Dornan, initially based in Cork with opportunities to transition to European projects.

Job Responsibilities
1. Provide key technical design input for HVAC, plant, and clean utilities systems, ensuring designing for fabrication and installation through to successful commissioning.
2. Interface with clients' representatives and the supply chain on site.
3. Work effectively with project managers and teams to review and support projects from inception to handover while ensuring alignment with Dornan's vision, mission, and values.
Key Tasks
* Preparing/Checking/Peer Reviewing of HVAC, Piping, Plant, and Clean Utility designs.
* Oversight of design across multiple projects, including checking and carrying out peer reviews.
* Reviewing designs for their commissionability.
* Ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
* Procurement from equipment enquires through requisitioning and monitoring manufacture through to delivery to site, maintaining comprehensive audit trails.
* Preparing design risk assessments and supporting method statements and Health and Safety aspects on site.
* Liaising with design and construction teams and supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site and successful handover.
* Maintaining adherence to Health and Safety, Environment, and quality procedures, with adequate records kept.
* Liaising with project managers to prepare the project close-out report.
Requirements
1. Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of design & construction experience essential.
3. Experience with Plant and Clean Utilities and process piping.
4. Preference given to those with experience in prefabrication, modularization, or commissioning services.
5. Understanding of mechanical calculations.
6. Proficiency in 3D software platforms.
7. Able to troubleshoot problems in the field.
8. Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental systems.
9. Commercial understanding.
10. Prioritizing continuous professional development.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
