Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a leading medical device company in Roscommon.
As a key member of the production team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of new production processes and procedures. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and improving our equipment, ensuring efficiency and productivity throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
* Production Process Support:
o Collaborate with Engineers to develop, standardize, and improve existing production processes and procedures.
o Assist Engineers in investigating and implementing new production methods.
o Support Engineers in design methods, part sourcing, and documentation.
* Equipment Design and Maintenance:
o Design, specify, manufacture, test, and document production equipment changes and improvements.
o Set up equipment and facilitate changeovers as required.
o Calibrate equipment and perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs).
o Change injection moulds as needed to support production requirements.
o Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures within an assigned process or area.
* Process Improvement and Troubleshooting:
o Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
o Provide process support and troubleshoot production issues, identifying equipment faults and implementing corrective actions.
* Environmental and Safety Compliance:
o Ensure environmental impact is considered in relation to purchasing, waste management, recycling, and energy usage.
o Communicate any concerns about environmental impact, health, or safety issues to the Manager.
o Conform to the requirements of the quality and environmental management system.
* Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Interface with internal personnel and outside vendors as necessary to support equipment maintenance, sourcing, and improvements.
o Support cross-functional projects as required.
* Additional Responsibilities:
o Undertake ad hoc duties and projects as required by the Business Unit Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
* A qualified Fitter, Toolmaker, Electrician, or Mechatronic qualification is required.
Experience:
* Previous experience working in a dynamic cleanroom manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
* Experience in the following areas:
* Changeovers and troubleshooting on injection moulding equipment.
* Multivac packaging systems.
* Extrusion blow moulding processes.
* Running automated production lines.
* Ultrasonic welding.
* Proven ability to complete maintenance tasks on a range of production equipment.
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment faults effectively.
* Experience implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
* Ability to perform preventative maintenance and scheduled PMs.
* Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
