This role sits in the synthetic chemistry team within the Megazyme R&D group, and involves strong internal collaboration between the biochemistry and molecular biology teams.
The research focus for the role is to contribute towards development of new analytical products for the food, beverage and related industries.
Through the Neogen Innovation Research Driver (NIRD) program the role holder will have the opportunity to suggest a new product concept and if approved, help transform the idea from inception to commercial reality.

What you'll be doing:
Complete multidisciplinary R&D objectives/tasks within defined timeframes.
Help to develop novel, economically viable, and scalable products.
Operation and maintenance of analytical instruments (LC/IC systems).Contribute towards development and execution of experimental plans.
Contribute to process transfer from R&D lab to kilolab for production at kg scale.
Creation and review of SOPs and other relevant documents.
Maintain excellent experimental records via electronic lab notebook.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, stock and associated H&S/5S duties.
Contribute towards submissions to Neogen's innovation program to support all R&D, process development and manufacturing projects.
Update project stakeholders as required via presentations, written reports or project management platforms.
About you:
Knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC/IC, TLC, NMR, GC/MS.Experience in operation of HPLC/IC systems, a distinct advantage.
Experience in synthetic organic chemistry and/or biochemistry, an advantage.
Experience working in a research or similar laboratory environment, an advantage.
Ability to work well, both as part of a team and independently.
Ability and willingness to solve complex problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
