Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team at a large supplier in the agriculture sector.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with best practices.
* Support the management of operational staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
* Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure seamless product flow.
People Management
* Help develop onsite personnel through training and support.
* Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement systems for performance management and succession planning.
Cost Control
* Manage the cost base and identify opportunities for savings.
* Assist with maintaining port operational budgets within agreed limits.
Quality and Team Management
* Ensure compliance with company standards and audit requirements.
* Motivate a diverse team and maintain high levels of communication with stakeholders.
Measurement and Organisation
* Analyse data to identify issues and develop corrective action plans.
* Maintain administration and reporting systems, and assist with implementing corporate policy and strategy.
