Clinical Specialist Speech & Language Therapist - ENT
Purpose of the Role
The post holder will lead a comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy service to patients and their families who are referred from the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialty within CHI at both Crumlin and Temple Street sites.
The post holder will maintain specialist clinical and leadership competencies to work across ENT, whilst supporting senior and basic grade SLT members of staff to carry out their clinical duties. The post holder will support the service’s on-going development in conjunction with the wider MDT. Together with SLT Management, the post holder will have a major role in commissioning and preparation for the move to the New Hospital.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor of Science in Clinical Speech and Language Studies from the University of Dublin or an equivalent qualification. Professional qualifications obtained outside the Republic of Ireland, including the U.K., must go through the Recognition process as outlined by CORU (www.coru.ie) prior to commencement of the contract.
* Registered with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist (www.coru.ie). Please state your CORU registration number on your CV.
* Membership or eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT).
* Have a minimum of five years satisfactory post qualification experience working with children with communication and swallowing impairment in an acute hospital setting.
* Postgraduate training in dysphagia assessment and management including videofluoroscopy at an advanced level.
* Postgraduate experience in the management of tracheostomy patients at an advanced level.
* Postgraduate experience working with patients with voice disorders.
