About the Role
Circet Ireland is seeking experienced Cabling Engineers to join our team. As a Cabling Engineer, you will work as part of a cabling gang and report directly to the Supervisor/FLM. You will be working on the National Telecoms Infrastructure upgrade & maintenance project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. UG Duct Testing and Roping: Test and ensure the integrity of Underground Ducts.
2. Traffic Management Planning: Identify and plan for traffic management requirements.
3. Tree Cutting Requirements: Identify tree cutting requirements for overhead works.
4. SLD Production: Produce Safety Liaison Documents upon successful task completion.
5. Job Pack Reading and Understanding: Read and comprehend Microsoft Word/Excel/PDF based Job Packs.
6. BT Duct Diagram Interpretation: Read and understand BT Duct diagrams.
7. Confined Space Work: Work safely in confined spaces.
8. Outdoor Work in All Weather Conditions: Perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions.
9. Site Travel and Reporting: Travel to and from various exchange locations upon work completion.
10. PON Completion Deadlines: Meet operational deadlines for PON completion.
11. Accredited Training: Attend accredited training courses as required.
12. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to KN Circet Health and Safety policies at all times.
Experience Required:
* Telecom Experience and Copper Network Knowledge: Previous experience in telecoms and good understanding of the copper network.
* First Aid: Hold valid first aid certification.
* Manual Handling: Possess manual handling skills.
* NRSWA Street Works Operative Licence Unit 2: Hold a valid NRSWA Street Works Operative Licence Unit 2.
* Openreach Overhead, Jointing and Cable Accreditation Modules: Hold Openreach overhead, jointing and cable accreditation modules (desirable).
* Basic CRB Check: Possess a basic CRB check less than 3 months old (desirable).
* Full Driving Licence: Hold a full driving licence.
* NOPS Registration: Be registered with NOPS.
* IPAF Certificate Cherry Picker: Hold an IPAF certificate for cherry picker operation (desirable).
* Openreach Desirable Accreditations: Possess Openreach desirable accreditations.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Monitor site practices and routines to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including the company H&S policy, to minimize accidents and resulting fines and compensation claims. Identify training needs and arrange for personnel to attend necessary courses in conjunction with the HSEQ department. Failure to embrace a safe and secure environment may result in disciplinary proceedings.
