Buyer Role
Our client, a manufacturing company based in Limerick, seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to manage procurement activities for their plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services required for various projects.
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value and quality.
* Monitor market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify potential savings.
* Purchase goods and services consistent with internal customers' stated requirements in conformance with safety, engineering, energy, and environmental codes and standards.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast procurement needs.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
* Employ the highest standard of ethics in all business dealings with suppliers and customers.
Requirements:
* Degree in Purchasing, Business, or Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent professional qualification.
* At least 5 years of work experience in a busy engineering-oriented purchasing role with relevant experience in procurement of high-value engineering goods and services.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.
* Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
