A IT Application Manager is required for a permanent role by CareerWise Recruitment for our Irish based client.

As the successful candidate, you will report into the Group IT Director and will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of business-critical applications and systems, contributing to the overall success of the organization. There is a significant people management dimension in this job, managing both internal and external stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design and develop the IT applications aligned with business objectives.
2. Work closely with Enterprise Architecture and IT teams to provide a framework for designing and aligning people, process, and technology.
3. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend suitable technology or software solutions to address business challenges.
4. Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of IT Business Solution Analysts, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
5. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and department heads to ensure successful collaboration at strategy, policy, and operational levels.
6. Develop expert knowledge of the business, its applications, and the interdependencies between systems.
7. Provide governance that aims to make applications run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, reduce interruptions, and minimize the impact of any problems that occur.
8. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Key Application and Upgrade projects, from initiation to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
9. Manage post-implementation optimization with an emphasis on business benefit realization.
10. Manage relationships with application providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure that external partners align with IT strategy and security standards.
11. Monitor and review service levels ensuring incident management is timely for all stakeholders.
12. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by leveraging incident data and user feedback.
13. Adopt a security-first approach and build security into business processes and solutions from the start.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. 3rd level honours degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. 5+ years working in business application and systems support.
3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
4. Proven experience in application and systems support, with a focus on incident and change management.
5. Project Management expertise and the ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
6. Exceptional planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work schedule and work within agreed timescales.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
8. Resilience and capability to work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
9. Self-motivated with strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
