A top ten Fire Engineering firm seeks a Graduate/Fire Engineer to join a team of highly skilled and talented engineers. Working on exciting projects in a variety of sectors with input across the full project life cycle, you’ll provide strategic fire safety advice across the UK for the whole construction industry following a clearly defined career path.
Supported by a senior Fire Engineer your responsibilities will include:
1. Attend design team meetings internally/externally
2. Site visits – Riba stages 4/5
3. Review and mark up design proposals
4. Liaising with design team members including Architects and clients
5. Critical thinking in supporting the design team to overcome the Fire Safety challenges
6. Produce technical reports to support the design through the approval process
7. Undertaking detailed Fire Engineering analysis including using computer modelling tools i.e., CFD, Evacuation and Structural Analysis modelling
8. Meeting and discussions with the Approving Authorities
Qualifications/Expectations:
1. A degree in Fire Engineering or related subject
2. Student member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (Advantageous)
3. Ambitious and a great attitude/application for learning
4. Diligent and creative
5. Able to manage your time effectively
6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
7. Friendly and approachable
