Sr. Software Development Engineer, Ring ConnectivityRing Connectivity is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design and architecture of Wireless technology. You will help contribute to a nationwide community network that enables connectivity for millions of IOT devices. You will drive technical direction and feature roadmap for Connectivity SDKs that will support device life-cycle management.
Key job responsibilitiesManage key components of the Connectivity SDKThink big; bring fresh ideas and approaches to simplify onboarding new devices on the wireless network and improve customer valueEvaluate different design choices, prototype new technology, and implement technical solutions that address business requirementsContribute in defining product roadmap, understand business impact of system choices, and make technical trade-offs using sound judgementWork closely with cross functional teams, understand the requirements, design and deliver innovative monitoring solutions to help preserve customer trustDrive engineering best practices around operational excellence and set standards in the teamDeal with ambiguity, make data-driven decisions and juggle cross-organization complexityDrive consensus when confronted with discordant views by identifying the best path forward and influence others to follow it A day in the lifeAs a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to influence the product roadmap, define key components of overall system architecture and lead the adoption of best practices within the org. About the teamRing Connectivity team shoulders the responsibility of ensuring an optimal connectivity user experience and defining use cases across the Ring, Blink and Sidewalk product range.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in computer science or equivalent7+ years of full software development of wireless including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing.Knowledge of wireless embedded systems or architectureExperience with wireless networking hardware such as routers, wireless station, wireless access pointsKnowledge of 802.11, 802.3, DHCP, TCP/IP stack of wireless technology or BLE protocol and stack.Experience with Linux or RTOS development
