Position Overview
AWN is expanding its Environmental Team and is currently seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team based in Dublin, collaborating on challenging and exciting projects within the private and public sector. The team includes a diverse group including environmental consultants, geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, acoustic engineers and environmental scientists.
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to scope and deliver projects in line with client requirements. Candidates should have good people skills, be driven, and also work well in a team environment. A balance of technical, communication/written and field skills is sought to flexibly contribute to a variety of different projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in:
* Desk based studies
* Site data collection and collation
* Coordination of environmental site investigations and monitoring programmes
* Undertaking GQRA and DQRA and developing remediation plan
* Preparation of technical reports
* High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
* Ability to problem solve and assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
* Capacity to respond to tight timelines, reporting needs, and internal reporting structures.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, hydrogeological software packages and GIS
* Full Clean Driving Licence
Preferred:
* 2 Years Experience
* Membership/Chartership of a recognised Environmental Professional body such as IEMA, IGI, IAH, CIWEM etc.
* Experience in preparation of chapters for EIARs
* Experience in site wide monitoring, supervision of drilling and pumptesting and water quality analysis
* Experience in Contaminated Land Site Assessment, Quantitative Risk Assessment and Remediation of Contaminated Sites
