Responsibilities
* Resolve and complete day to day work orders/tasks to meet customer satisfaction targets and delivered within a timely fashion in meeting all client KPI’s/SLA’s.
* Maintain up to date logs of work completed and outstanding items through remedy or mutually agreed client system/platform Auto-task.
* Installing, configuring, and maintaining optical servers, networking equipment, optical patch cords testing/ certification and other data centre optical infrastructure.
* Monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and responding to faults and outages promptly.
* Carry out isolations and re-instatement of Electrical, Chilling, Fire Alarms and Sprinkler systems when required and where authorised.
* Working closely with engineers and other IT professionals to manage data centre capacity and operations.
* Operate as a team with other technicians by sharing expertise and experience to help resolve operational problems.
* Provide holiday, training & sickness cover for other members of the shift team.
* Tracking and Completion of Critical Services Planned Preventative Maintenance. Effectively maintain and report on the critical services & environmental monitoring.
* Provide condition assessments of plant and equipment.
* Log and action all abnormalities situations with incident reports to include remedial action taken.
* Update reports, documentation and infrastructure mapping, as required.
* Ensure work quality of 3rd party specialist contractors and action/implement any report recommendations.
* Ensure there is follow through between normal technical tasks and additional/project works.
* To ensure all requirements are met within clients SLA (Service Level Agreement) and adhere to the standard clients Cloud requirements.
Required Skills
* The technician must be a formally time served trade technicians in either mechanical or electrical services.
* Experience of mission critical facilities maintaining, but not limited to, UPS systems, BMS operation, emergency standby generators, chiller systems & testing of electrical systems.
* Optical Hardware installation, Fibre handling/Testing and certification.
* Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities.
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Organised and with good written English skills.
* To be able to demonstrate a good use of excel, word and outlook.
* Ability to learn, and develop both technical knowledge, and understanding or local organisational systems and processes.
* Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
* Calm manner, able to work under pressure.
* A team player, able to work with eir and clients staff of all levels.
* Required to work shifts which will include weekend and bank holiday working.
