On behalf of our Manufacturing Client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer for their plant in Limerick. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years buying experience and will play a key role in managing procurement activities to support our plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services required for various projects.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value and quality.
3. Monitor market trends and conduct cost analysis to identify potential savings.
4. Purchase goods and services consistent with internal customers' stated requirements in conformance with safety, engineering, energy, and environmental codes and standards.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast procurement needs.
6. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
8. Ensure the highest standard of ethics is employed in all business dealings with both Suppliers and Customers at all times in accordance with the commercial procedures.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Purchasing / Business / Supply Chain Management or an equivalent professional qualification.
2. At least 5 years work experience in a busy engineering-oriented purchasing role with relevant experience in procurement of high value engineering goods and services.
3. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.
6. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
