Logistics Specialists monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities. They receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers. They will also be responsible for loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different locations.
This position involves frequent lifting of materials and products. Logistics Specialists will be required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company. They must also maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces. They must be available to work weekend shift work.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, as well as experience and knowledge of reverse logistics processes. Experience handling vendor relationships is helpful.
Key Job Responsibilities
Primary Focus: Inventory Control, Audits
This position will be required to sit in Manassas, VA as the primary location for approximately 2-4 months until the building in Fredericksburg, VA is open and operational.
Physical / Environmental Demands
1. Requires standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods of time.
2. Typically work is in a warehouse environment where the noise level is moderate to loud.
3. May also work in a data center environment where the noise level is loud.
4. Occasionally assist in loading and unloading shipments.
5. Occasionally exposed to extreme cold or hot weather.
6. This role may involve travel between sites.
7. This role may also involve driving and transporting between sites with the use of a company vehicle.
Work Environment
1. Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
2. Noise level varies and can be loud.
3. Temperature between 60 and 90 degrees, and will occasionally exceed 90 degrees.
A Day in the Life
As the Data Center Logistics Specialist, you will lead your team to maintain successful daily operations within your cluster. You will review incoming deliveries, track weekly priorities, and ensure all SLAs are met. You will contribute to your team’s development through assisting in projects, providing development feedback on a 1:1, and drive projects and process improvements on your own. You will organize coverage needs with your cluster and assist the manager with organizing strategies to complete ongoing high-priority tasks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 1+ years of logistics experience.
2. 1+ year experience in team leadership/supervisory experience.
3. Valid driver's license with access to personal vehicle for daily use.
4. Proficiency with MS Excel.
5. Able to read and form actionable plans using data/metrics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 1+ years of material forecasting experience.
2. 1+ year of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices.
3. Experience in data center environment.
4. Experience in process improvement.
5. Experience in management or leadership of a decentralized team.
