Job Description Join our fabulous team at The Fleet Hotel as a Night Porter The Night Porter is an important position working closely with the Night Manager About The Fleet The Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar.
It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner's for decades.
The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley's Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner's for generations.
Role Responsibilities __________________________________________________________________________________ Job Purpose: Reporting to the Night Manager, the Night Porter will assist the Night team in meeting the variety of guest requests that may arise, helping to create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.
Reports to: Night Manager / Operations Manager / Front Office Supervisor Night Porter: Key Duties and Responsibilities: In the event that a guest is late arriving from his/her destination, check-in procedures will be required to be carried out.
The guest will be made to ensure that he/she is made comfortable and any food and beverage requirements that he/she may have is catered for.
Porterage service.
Room Service/Bar Service as requested by guests Cleaning duties or any other duties outlined by the Front Office manager/Night Auditor on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Ensuring that all bar service is adhered to, in relation to our licensing restrictions.
Ensuring all fire and safety procedures have been carried out and recorded, as per your remit.
Ensuring the safety/security and comfort of our members / guests and owners at all times by monitoring all areas of vulnerability i.e.
machinery / doors / equipment / gas fires and or cookers etc.
To perform the Night Audit procedures, if required.
To carry out any cleaning duties as indicated by the Night Manager on a daily / weekly / or monthly basis.
Check-out procedures, if guest is checking-out before Front Desk commence in the morning.
HEALTH & SAFETY To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
To keep your work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box.
To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
Reports all potential and real hazards immediately Fully understands the hotel's fire, emergency, and bomb procedures Co-ordinates work, and works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions to avoid mishaps Keeps the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, appropriate uniform, appearance, and conduct This job description is not all inclusive and is intended as an outline of the responsibilities and requirements of the role.
