Job Role: Senior Health & Safety Officer
In Galway, a leading Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced professional to implement a top-down approach to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and developments affecting the industry.
* Lead in-house training for managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks.
* Develop safe operational procedures identifying and accounting for relevant hazards and communicate them to all employees.
* Keep records of inspections, findings, and produce reports suggesting improvements.
* Deliver Toolbox Talks and liaise with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers.
* Carry out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are properly implemented and adhered to.
* Making changes to working practices to make them safer and ensuring compliance with current legislation.
Requirements:
* Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred).
* At least 7 years of experience in construction health and safety.
* Recent experience working on civil projects.
