Overview
As a Transport Planner you will be scheduling, and co-ordinating company fleet, drivers, and crew members. They will also manage day to day issues, ensuring completion of routes and efficiency is maximised. They will be the point of contact for team members issues and will support the team where necessary.

Experience required in transport planning/scheduling roleAbility to work under own initiative with strong motivational skillsStrong communication interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft office suiteStrong team player, Customer FocusedBe self-motivated and ambitious and enjoy working in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
Reports to the Transport ManagerBecome a key member of the transport teamOperate closely with the transport manager to ensure constant communications with vehicles, drivers, and on-board systems to meet service requirements.Merge customer requirements and driver/vehicle availability with daily and weekly transport plans and communicate with all parties to ensure sufficient capacity and flexibility.Manage route planning and reviewing existing routes of commercial and domestic customers.Schedule and coordinate drivers and crew members based on forecasted peak business levels.Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, drivers, and crew to harness good working relationsCheck crews are compliant with site agreements, health and safety standards and defect reporting.Sending updates to drivers as necessaryInputting jobs onto transport management systemsEnsure company procedures and quality service are maintained always
