Environmental Specialist / Donegal Our client is a global company seeking an Environmental Specialist. The role will report to the Operations Manager and be have responsible for day-to-day management of all environmental compliance within their sites. Salary: Will depend on experience. The Role: Establish and maintain a working environment, in which employees feel motivated to participate in a process of continuous improvement, designed to enhance their knowledge and application of safety at work. Management of site IPC Licence Oversight of new licence applications/technical amendments, as required Coordination and completion of environmental tasks to ensure regulatory compliance with IPC Licence, including but not limited to: VOC Abatement monitoring & reporting Storm Water sampling & monitoring o Waste Management Streams monitoring Provision of reports to the EPA e.g. AER, SMP/FE, EPR and collation of data for same. Ongoing enhancement and maintenance of EMS Programmes, in line with licence and Corporate EHS requirements. Liaising with cross functional teams to maintain environmental compliance with monitoring and management programmes, including: Installation and commissioning of any new environmental equipment e.g. abatement & CEMS system, fire water retention, drainage systems o Implementation of energy and sustainability objectives and targets Implementation of Environmental KPIs Completion of regular site inspections, following up on actions from same. Completion of environmental risk assessments, impacts and aspects assessments. Provision of training to employees and contractors on environmental programmes. Investigation of any environmental incidents identification of root causes and CAPAs as required. Updating all environmental data to the EDEN portal, as required. This is a non-exhaustive list of roles and responsibilities for this position, other tasks may be required from time to time as directed by the Operations Manager & CEHS Team. The Candidate: Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Environmental Discipline is preferred, but depending on experience may not be required Strong post graduate industry experience in a similar role (licenced environment) but would consider other experience. Experience of communicating with the EPA and other regulatory bodies (County Council, Inland Fisheries Ireland etc) Experience of Environmental Licensing maintenance and applications Experience of Abatement systems and technology Experience of implementing & maintaining ISO & ISO 5001:2018 are desirable. Working knowledge of EDEN portal required MS Office Suite proficiency Co-operative Teamwork - ability to engage with employees, CEHS, External Stakeholders at all levels. Ability to identify problems and create innovative solutions and opportunities for improvement. Excellent attention to detail, record management and strong leadership to deliver result.
