Head of Purchasing Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Purchasing to support our clients, a multinational company based in County Kerry.
This permanent full-time position reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for overseeing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Coordinate purchasing activities at the company level
* Support the Project Manager in defining and implementing the divisional purchasing strategy
* Develop and implement group-wide and division-wide Material Group Management systems
* Optimize replenishment times and implement a multi-supplier strategy
* Ensure the availability of necessary materials
* Lead efforts to reduce material costs
* Manage staff within the Purchasing Department
* Develop and improve purchasing methods and tools
* Take responsibility for purchasing control
* Oversee all purchasing project portfolios
Requirements:
* At least 5 years of experience in procurement management
* Sound knowledge of procurement strategies and techniques
* Relevant qualifications or extensive experience
