About the Role
Our client is a prestigious full-service law firm based in Dublin city. They are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Knowledge Lawyer to join their dynamic Corporate Department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Developments & Research:
* Proactive Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze new and proposed legislation, case law, and regulatory developments impacting corporate and M&A transactions.
* Impact Assessment: Assess the implications of these developments on the firm's Corporate practice, identifying potential risks and opportunities for clients.
* Internal Briefings: Prepare concise and insightful briefings for internal consumption within the Corporate Department, summarizing key legal and regulatory changes and their potential impact on practice.
* Current Awareness: Produce and disseminate high-quality internal current awareness bulletins specific to the Corporate Department, keeping colleagues informed of the latest legal developments.
* Research Support: Provide timely and accurate legal research support to colleagues within the Corporate Department, including ad-hoc queries and complex research projects related to M&A, private equity, corporate finance, and other corporate matters.
2. Know How, Precedents & Knowledge Management:
* Precedent Management: Develop, review, and update legal precedents and practice tools specific to the Corporate Department on an ongoing basis, ensuring their accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
* Knowledge Dissemination: Effectively communicate new and updated know-how, precedents, and best practices to the Corporate Department through presentations, workshops, and other appropriate channels.
* Legal Tech Implementation: Actively participate in the evaluation and implementation of legal technology solutions to improve knowledge management processes and enhance research efficiency within the Corporate Department.
* Knowledge Culture: Champion a strong knowledge-sharing culture within the Corporate Department, encouraging collaboration and the effective utilization of available resources.
3. Client Facing Activities:
* Client Insights: Identify key legal developments of particular interest to clients in the Corporate Department and proactively communicate these insights.
* Client Briefings: Prepare and deliver high-quality briefing papers and presentations for clients on relevant legal and regulatory topics within the Corporate Department.
The Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
* Qualified Solicitor with a strong academic record and a proven track record of success in private practice.
* Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant legal experience within a reputable law firm's Corporate Department.
* Possess exceptional research skills and a deep understanding of the legislative process in both Ireland and the EU, with a particular focus on corporate and M&A law.
* Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business challenges faced by clients in corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity, and corporate finance.
* Results-Oriented: Highly motivated and results-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
* Knowledge Management Advocate: A strong understanding of the importance of effective knowledge management within a law firm, with a particular focus on the needs of a busy Corporate Department.
