Site Food Safety and Quality Manager required for a Global Food Ingredients company. This person will provide leadership for Food safety and Quality for the site with 4 direct reports.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain Food Safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Oversee Food Safety, Hygiene and GMP standards on site ensuring the Food Safety HACCP program is robust, effective, and compliant to applicable Global Policies and Procedures, Regulatory Agencies and Accreditation Bodies.
2. Management of all Quality System elements including Quality Reviews, Management of Change, Documentation Control, Validation/Qualification, Quality Agreements, Deviations and Investigations, Sanitation, Specifications, Batch release, CAPA, Audits and Customer Complaints.
3. Management and oversight of site laboratories and compliance to the required accreditation bodies.
4. Maintain and improve quality Objectives and KPIs.
5. Manage staffing within the quality function including QC & QA.
6. Manage the department budget and utilize resources effectively to meet business needs.
7. Working closely with site management and regional teams to lead a culture of continuous improvement across functions including Operations, Engineering and Quality.
Experience
Minimum of an Honors Science degree in Food, Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent related discipline.
1. 5+ years Quality Management experience in a food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
2. Experience in Validation (Facility, Equipment, Utilities, Process and Cleaning).
3. Attention to detail coupled with strong technical problem-solving ability.
4. Team focus - strong people management and Interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to influence and persuade, apply logical thinking and a pragmatic approach.
