Job Title: Research Assistant BRAIN-RESTORE
Department: Data Science Centre, School of Population Health Sciences, RCSI
Reporting to: Professor Kathleen Bennett
Location: Beaux Lane House, St Stephens Green, Dublin
Contract/Duration: Specified purpose contract for 1 year (Part-time) - 2.5 days per week (0.5 FTE)
Remuneration: Research Assistant pay scale, up to Point 4

Project
RCSI has been awarded a Health Research Board (HRB) Knowledge Translation Award (KEDs) grant to support knowledge translation and dissemination activities for our BRAIN-RESTORE project, which examines the rehabilitation needs of people with a brain tumour in Ireland.
Summary of Post
This is a part-time Research Assistant post for a one-year duration (0.5FTE; this is flexible). Specific objectives of this award include:
* To provide educational content (Webinar/short video content) for healthcare professionals (HCP) who manage patients after brain tumour.
* To develop a health summary care tool for patients/carers to use and share with healthcare professionals.
* To provide a central resource repository for information and support to share with patients, carers and the general public.
* To co-design a resource on ‘ENHANCING FUNCTION AFTER A BRAIN TUMOUR DIAGNOSIS’.
* To create a Brain Tumour Knowledge Exchange network of knowledge users.
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
* Prepare the educational materials in conjunction with the research team.
* Arrange meetings with HSE, stakeholders and patient and public involvement (PPI) representatives.
* Assist in the preparation of summary health tool.
* Planning the World Café event to launch resources and communicating research findings.
* Support the write up findings for peer-reviewed publications.
Qualifications – (Essential):
* A Masters or undergraduate qualification in health, social sciences, psychology, communication or a related subject.
Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):
* Good organisational and administrative skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Good computer skills including use of MS office.
* Strong project and time management skills.
* Experience of using social media to disseminate research findings.
* Knowledge of health service research and cancer research.
* Experience of literature searching and organising meetings.
