Job Description:
The primary purpose of this role is to lead a small Professional Scientific Services (PSS) team of analytical staff to ensure that the team is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, have high morale and retention, and the agreed client requirements are entirely satisfied and that client expectations are met or exceeded through effective leadership and quality operational management, under the supervision of the PSS Manager. This person will be a key point of contact for the client on a day-to-day basis.
The role will involve leading the PSS team to develop & optimise analytical methods along with method validation and transfer, according to regulatory guidelines.
* Develop, evaluate & verify analytical methods across a range of techniques (including HPLC and Dissolution).
* Provide analytical testing across a range of techniques.
* Provide analytical support in technical transfers and troubleshooting.
* Develop methods independently and train in method development.
* Demonstrate problem solving in delivering process and analytical understanding.
* Provide training to team members as required and document all training appropriately.
* Develop, coach, motivate, and enhance the morale of team members through effective team building and recognition systems.
* Participate in the preparation and execution of PAD reviews and regular one-to-ones with your team.
* Assist in Team Meetings preparation and execution with the PSS Manager.
* Act as the main point of contact for the team and the client regarding service provision discussions.
* Review and approve all relevant documentation timely, ensuring compliance with required standards.
* Understand requirements for working in a GMP environment.
* Quickly learn new processes.
* Communicate clearly and form strong working relationships with colleagues.
* Work independently and develop solutions to problems.
* Be a good team player, organized, accurate, and possess strong documentation skills.
* Be passionate about quality and customer service.
Qualifications
* Honours Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
Experience / Skills
* Extensive knowledge of Method development and Method validation.
* HPLC & Dissolution experience.
* Minimum 1 year in a supervisory / leadership capacity.
* Full understanding of requirements for working in a GMP environment.
* Good planning and organizational skills.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills.
* Good Knowledge of ICH guidelines.
* Strong IT skills.
* Willing to operate flexibly and incorporate internal and external experiences into relevant improvements.
* Good team player, organized, accurate, with strong documentation skills.
