Job Description
The role of Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) & Environmental Planning Consultant involves leading and managing complex projects in a hybrid working model. The position offers opportunities for growth and leadership development.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for large-scale projects.
2. Oversee the preparation and submission of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs).
3. Lead planning applications and conduct pre-application consultations with local authorities.
4. Collaborate with clients, authorities, and internal teams to ensure project delivery within time constraints.
5. Supervise and mentor an internal EIA team and external subcontractors.
6. Ensure compliance with Irish environmental and planning legislation.
7. Manage relationships with key stakeholders in renewable energy, construction, and food & drink industries.
8. Identify project challenges, provide solutions, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
9. Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
10. Ensure projects align with company objectives, core values, and financial targets.
Requirements:
1. A third-level qualification (Degree/Masters) in environmental science or a related discipline.
2. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental planning and EIA management.
3. Proven experience in Irish planning legislation and EIAR report writing.
4. Strong ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and oversee multiple projects concurrently.
5. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
