Job Description:
The role of Accounts Assistant at BenchMark offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment for career development. Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the accounting system.
* Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and customer accounts.
* Monitor accounts payable and receivable, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
* Handle petty cash and expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Support payroll processing, including timesheet verification for construction site staff.
* Assist in VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks.
* Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and maintaining financial records.
Requirements:
* A degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Prior experience in a similar role.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
