Job Overview: This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to help grow Ireland's leading multi-food sector infrastructure project. The Food Sector - Business Development Manager will drive business development, client relations, and campus engagement. This role will serve as the public face of the campus, ensuring seamless service for members and promoting growth across key deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Community Engagement: Achieve full capacity across revenue streams and maintain a growth pipeline. Manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring strong engagement and documentation. Drive client negotiations, membership sales, and marketing to maximize occupancy and revenue. Foster collaboration with external stakeholders from public, private, and educational sectors. Build and nurture a community within the food, innovation, and enterprise sectors regionally and nationally.
2. Community Engagement Strategy: Lead on creating an inclusive, collaborative campus environment that supports networking among businesses. Ensure best-in-class communications and engagement, enhancing the campus's public image.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain records of stakeholder interactions, prepare documentation, and lead regional outreach.
Report Structure: The position reports directly to the General Manager at BIA Innovator Campus CLG.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Degree/Diploma in a relevant field.
2. At least 5 years experience in a commercial environment (preferably in the food sector) with proven relationship-building skills.
Skills Required:
1. Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
2. Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
3. Detail-oriented with the ability to see the bigger picture.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience in the food sector with broad customer/stakeholder interaction.
Behavioral Competencies:
1. Strong networking, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
2. Results-driven, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities.
3. Financially aware, capable of handling budgets and revenue targets.
4. Flexibility to work on a multifaceted site, including evening and weekend hours.
5. Some travel within Europe may be required.
Employment Details:
Location: Teagasc, Mellows Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway, and the BIA Innovator Campus buildings.
Probation Period: 6 months with reviews at 3 and 6 months.
Salary: Based on experience.
Annual Leave: 20 days per annum.
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, with flexibility required for evening and weekend work.
Driving Licence: Full driving license required. Candidates must provide their own insured vehicle suitable for business use.
Health Requirements: Candidates must be in good health and may be required to pass a medical exam.
