Job Description
The Design Manager will support the team in enhancing our design activities, leading and managing a team of Design Engineers/CAD Technicians to maximise their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and lead Design Engineers & CAD Technicians overseeing multiple design projects.
2. Problem solving and resolution of coordination and design roadblocks.
3. Management of drawing standards and specifications.
4. Manage and coordinate LCBP standards and inspection and accreditation process.
5. Development and updating of Design SOP's, Manuals, Procedures for your Department in line with legislative, regulatory, Company and Client requirements.
6. Schedule and plan for upcoming works and provide updates to relevant Departments.
7. Ensure all designs are tracked, monitored, planned and progress updated in relevant project management schedules and systems.
8. Develop and implement standard design tools to build efficiencies in project execution.
9. Support Design Engineers to ensure they pass internal and external audits and inspections.
10. Coach, mentor, and train employees with all aspects of Design and related functions.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years Fire Sprinkler Design Experience.
* Experience using Revit.
* Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload.
* Flexible, adaptable, and can-do attitude to work.
* Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships; being a trusted advisor to colleagues.
* Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in leading and managing design teams.
* Strong knowledge of design software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
* Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
Desirable Criteria:
* LPCB - Basic, Intermediate and FHC Exams.
* Project Management Qualification.
